Assembly building Ferrari

The competition programme provided for the making of two new buildings – the Assembly Building of cars and the new Executive Offices – adjacent to the historic entrance of Ferrari town in Maranello.

Indeed, the project supplied for an action that joined the two subjects into one unit: the elevated Executive Offices, which are at a height of 20 meters above ground level, are placed under a big roofing looking down on the assembly building and protecting the area-place facing the new building. This enhances the vacuum between the new Assembly Building and the historic Ferrari buildings marking the estate border. By elevating the offices, a new area is created – the Ferrari living room – whose clear identity is meant to solidify the collective and symbolic values of the company of Maranello. The historic artifacts at the borders of Ferrari town, with their long and horizontal faces, dialogize with the new roofing, which is horizontal and technological, light and elevated; as a result, the accent is put at a distance on different but somehow similar epochs and stories.

Inside the Assembly Building, where the brand value is displayed, where craftsmanship and technology meet, the intervention aimed at enhancing the quality of the environment, through the introduction of wide full-height patios to bring air, natural light and green into the working place as the meaningful and essential elements of the psychophysical wellbeing of users.
